Finnish Saunas - How they Work
There are not many Fins who do not own a sauna or
has access to one. The sauna room is heated by
water being poured onto hot rocks which in turn creates
a dry, invisible steam therefore heating the air.
Temperatures can sometimes reach as high as 180oF
to 220oF. The Fins believe in using
rocks in the traditional way - heated by wood-burning
stoves and not electric heaters.
